Tessa mythos - Slimi

Tessa Mythos is a visionary artist creating mythically inspired paintings that explore the interconnectivity of Humanity, Nature and the Divine. Inspired by visions, dreams and the astral realms her work explores the realms of the fantastic, magic, metaphysical and symbolic in a transformative and evolving world.

What first led you to shamanic art?
My work is an expression of my inner worlds and visions and my practice has always been connected to understanding and exploring the realms of spirit, dreams, fantasy, mythos, and the unseen dimensions and navigating those mystical experiences through my art.

How do spirit and creativity connect for you?
Art is an expression of the spirit and soul, so it's a natural connection that flows through the creative process.

What symbols or elements appear most in your work and why?
My work is deeply symbolic, I have an inner landscape of symbols, characters, myths and visions that express through me and help guide and direct the course of the work.

Do you follow any personal rituals before creating?
If I’m preparing for a specific painting, depending on the vision and energy that wants to come though, I will prepare myself and connect to that frequency with intention. Sometimes that means being in Nature and feeling clarity, writing and sketching, often I will have a vision in my head for a long time that keeps bubbling up and evolving, then when the time comes to work things flow with a lot of purpose.

How does nature influence your process?
Nature is always my grounding force and the ever inspiring source of awe that recharges and connects everything and reminds me of the greater cycles and divine intelligence that we are all a part of.

What do you want people to feel from your art?
I think it's subjective, people feel what they will from the art, it's not up to me to decide. I always work to the best of my abilities and hope that the energy and feeling is transmitted and that it has a positive effect on people, maybe it helps them feel something deeper or see something from a different perspective or brings some joy or remembrance to something that they can relate to as well.

Has your work ever led to healing — for yourself or others?
I experience a constant flow of transformation and healing through my work, it continues to surprise me and brings me closer to my centre and understanding of myself. It reveals a lot in the process and is a great journey of discovery and remembrance.

What’s next on your artistic path?
I am continually following my instincts and inner guidance as an artist, creating what I want to create and working with my inspirations, that is the primary goal.
